Summer in the City Festival Madrid

Outdoor Projector in Madrid, SpainThe Sabatini Gardens are located opposite the Royal Palace in Madrid. They were built around 1972 by Fernando Mercadal. It is an ideal place for taking long walks to admire the nature or to escape during the hot days. It is also a beautiful cultural space. Every year incredible concerts and all kinds of artistic events (theatre, dance etc) are held. Everything starts in July and finishes at the end of August. This incredible stage will offer us many different types of music: jazz, rock, ethnic and so on… Some examples are: Ariel Hernandez Quartet, Tango Work in Progress, Aurora Vargas and Luisa Palici, Capullo de Jerez and Julian Estrada, etc. The contemporary dance lovers will be able to attend Sara Baras’ wonderful spectacle on August 18th: “Juana la loca, vivir por amor”

“Zarzuelas”, a traditional spectacle born in Madrid where the spoken prose is mixed with singing, will also be held. There are several examples of this type of theatre that you can admire during these exciting days: “El cuplé y la zarzuela en escena”, by Lilian de Celis, the “Antología de Chapí” and finally, “La Corte del Faraón”. They will leave you amazed!

The cinema also comes with great expectations to these fantastic gardens. Youth, children and adults are invited to spend a great time at this outdoor cinema in the Sabatini Gardens.
